Chiriapanda S Suresh Nanjappa
CHIRIAPANDA SURESH NANJAPPA is a community leader, sports achiever, and business professional. He was born on 9 February 1973 to Chiriapanda Subbaiah and Kaveramma in Balele. He completed his schooling in Balele and St. Anne’s, Virajpet, and later studied at St. Philomena’s College, Puttur, graduating in the B.B.M. from St. Aloysius College, Mangalore.
He is married to Ashwini daughter of Madeyanda Ravi Kunjappa and Rathi from Madikeri. The couple has two children: their daughter, Mishti Nanjappa, who is currently pursuing MBBS at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS)Bangalore, and their son, Kanav Cariappa, is studying in the 10th grade.
He has a strong background in athletics and is known for his performances in javelin and other track and field events. He holds a University record in javelin (1992) and has represented and won at multiple levels, including junior state competitions and South Canara district events in Karnataka. He has also represented and won in South Zone events, along with achieving recognition in various sports athletic competitions.
He is a successful business owner and proprietor, associated with multiple steel and metal enterprises including Suresh Steels, Bangalore Blue Metals, and Sri Kaveri Blue Metals.
He has served in several leadership roles within the Kodava community. He was the Honorary Secretary of Kodava Samaj, Vasanthnagar, Bangalore. Honorary Secretary of Kengeri kodava Sangha and also served as the President of Field Marshall Kodava Okkuta (Kengeri) for seven years.
He is the Founder Director of the Nagarbhavi Credit Co-operative Society, Bangalore, and currently serves as the President of Kodava Samaj, Bangalore.
He works with different organizations to support the development of education and sports, and to help those in need through community-focused initiatives.
He achieved a landmark accomplishment as the first Kodava film producer to receive the State Award for the movie “Naa Puttena Mann” in the Best Regional Movie category in 2011.
