Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa, OBE

As the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa stands as a towering figure in national history. Yet alongside his legendary military service, his heart remained fiercely dedicated to the unity and upliftment of the Kodava community.

His visionary leadership as our Chief Patron was the catalyst for giving the Samaja its permanent home. In an act of immense generosity, he donated a one-acre parcel of land in Vasanthnagar, gifted to him by the Maharaja of Mysore, to Kodava Samaja Bangalore. His unyielding integrity and pride in his roots continue to inspire generations of young Kodavas.
