Join KSB

Membership

Joining KSB is joining the extended ainmane of Kodavas in Bengaluru.

What membership means

Being Kodava in Bengaluru should never mean being alone.

More than 50,000 Kodavas live in Bengaluru today, and around 17,000 of them are members of Kodava Samaja Bangalore. For over a century, KSB has been the community’s extended ainmane (ancestral home) in the city: the place where festivals are celebrated, where families mark their milestones, and where the community stands together in difficult times.

Membership is not a subscription to facilities. It is belonging. It strengthens the collective voice of Kodavas in the city and the state, and it connects you and your family to a living tradition that stretches back to 1911.

What being a member brings

Community & belonging

Join 17,000 fellow members in the community's home in Bengaluru. Network, build friendships, and stay connected to Kodava life, including opportunities for matrimonial alliances within the community.

Culture & participation

Celebrate Kailpodh, Cauvery Sankramana, and Puthari together. Take part in inter-sangha tournaments, cultural competitions, and programmes that keep traditions alive across generations.

Welfare & support

Access the Medical Welfare Fund in a health crisis, the Death Fund's support for bereaved families, discounted rates at tied-up hospitals, and free legal counselling.

Education & career

Scholarships for members' children, donation-free admission and subsidised fees at Sree Cauvery School, fee concessions at partner schools, and career guidance through the Kaveri Placement Cell.

Who can join

All Kodavas who have attained 18 years of age are eligible to apply.

Life Membership is for applicants with Bangalore address proof, and carries full benefits including the Death Fund and voting rights.

Associate Membership is for Kodavas outside Bangalore who wish to belong to KSB but do not hold Bangalore address proof. Associate members do not receive Death Fund cover and do not have voting rights.

Applicants above 60 years are welcome as members, but are not eligible for the Death Fund.

Every application needs a proposer and a seconder, both of whom must be Life Members of KSB and must know the applicant's full details.
